NZKKA was founded by Grant Morrison and Shane Rongonui.  Both started their martial arts training the early 1980’s in a ‘mixed’ art that included Shalin Kempo and a small portion of Kenpo Karate (the Parker System).  

In 1995 they both left this art to pursue a fuller understanding of the Parker System of Kenpo Karate.  Subsequently the New Zealand Kenpo Karate Association was established in 1997.
