Bagua Zhang Martial Arts Style (Pakua Chuan)
Bagua Zhang (Pakua Chuan) like Tai Chi is one of the most popular internal style Chinese martial arts systems which were founded in the early 19th century by Dong Haichuan.
Similar to Tai Chi, Pakua Chuan has several variations in style, such as Yin, Cheng and Sun, each of them with slightly different emphases.
In Pakua Chuan most of the movements are based around circular walking, thought to have evolved from one of its creators interests, Taoist circle walking; combined with other influential martial arts in the region at that time.
Bagua Zhang is practiced in a relaxed manner and the circular movements contain many different techniques such as grappling, joint-locks, kicks, punches and throws within the forms.
