Fujian White Crane

Fujian White Crane Kung Fu is a Chinese Martial art that was developed in the southern Chinese province of Fujian by Fāng Qīniáng - a female martial arts practitioner.

Fujian White Crane is said to have been developed when Fāng Qīniáng was trying to scare away a Crane by hitting it with a stick, when she did the Crane blocked her attacks with its wings and pecked with its beak. Alot of Chinese martial arts are based on the movements of animals, and so she decided to learn techniques based on how the Crane moved - adding them to her already vast Kung Fu knowledge.

The art of White Crane Kung Fu's techniques are mostly centered around intricate hand movements which are usually used for close combat.
