Like most traditional &lt;strong&gt;martial arts&lt;/strong&gt; there are many sub &lt;strong&gt;styles &lt;/strong&gt;such as &lt;strong&gt;Shokotan&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Kyokushin&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Seido &lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;Ishin Ryu&lt;/strong&gt; and usually all of these employ the basic fundamentals.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Each style of &lt;strong&gt;Karate &lt;/strong&gt;will have its own unique Katas which are sets of movements a &lt;strong&gt;Karate &lt;/strong&gt;practitioner (&lt;strong&gt;Karate-&lt;/strong&gt;ka) will learn from their Sensei or senior students. The Kata will teach them techniques they can apply to sparring and self defence.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Karate &lt;/strong&gt;is practiced globally for sport, fitness and self defence and has become a very popular &lt;strong&gt;martial art&lt;/strong&gt; to study.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
